At the end of 2016, our pastor retired after twenty-five years of providing loving and caring ministry at our church. The church then turned to the leadership of Intentional Interim Pastor Dean Frazeur and Church Coach Dr. Jim Hamacher to guide and take us through the transition period.
The congregation has excellent potential for growth. The church is located in one of the fastest growing areas in the greater Richmond community. It has excellent facilities that have recently been paid off and is blessed with a loving, giving fellowship. The current average Sunday morning worship attendance is approximately 115 and the budget is $220,000. The staff is composed of a full-time Pastor with three-part time positions consisting of a Music Director, Youth Director, and Secretary.
Chesterfield Baptist congregation partners with the Baptist General Association of Virginia and the Middle District Baptist Association. Theologically, we are conservative, and we have had women deacons for many years. While the congregation has a good percentage of older adults, it has a base of median age adults and the whole church recognizes the need and desire to reach the younger families who are moving into the area in large numbers.
